Welcome to SUNY Oswego's International Language and Education Center (ILEC). Housed in the Division of Extended Learning, ILEC offers several programs that help speakers of other languages to increase their English proficiency. Learn more about our programs below and if you have any questions please feel free to contact us. SUNY Oswego offers a year-round English for Academic Purposes program (EAP) and a Summer Intensive English Program (SIEP).
IEP
Intensive English Program
(Not currently offered)
Designed for international students seeking to improve their English skills to be admitted to SUNY Oswego, or those who simply wish to improve their English language proficiency.

SIEP
Summer Intensive English Program
SUNY Oswego's three- and six-week SEIP programs have a history of success and will help you develop the skills, fluency, and confidence you need to communicate effectively in English.
EAP
English for Academic Purposes & US Culture
This program is for undergraduate and graduate students as well as exchange students hoping to improve and develop their English academic literacy skills. Each three-credit course counts as an Arts and Science elective towards graduation in most undergraduate majors.
Students with lower incoming English proficiency scores have priority in registering for EAP courses. If there are available seats, the EAP classes will be made available to other international students.
