Athletics and Recreation

Whether you’re a spectator or a participant, you'll find so many ways to get involved and stay active on campus. If you want to join a team, Oswego offers more than 40 intramural and club sports — everything from broomball to volleyball. Cheer on your fellow Lakers at one of our many Division III games or stream live games from your room.

NCAA Division III Athletics

Students compete in NCAA Division III athletics in 24 men’s and women’s sports programs, including ice hockey, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, track and field, swimming and diving, golf, cross country, tennis, and wrestling. We participate in the SUNY Athletic Conference, the Eastern College Athletic Conference and the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference.

Club and Intramural Sports

Club and intramural sports allow you to continue the athletic spirit in a more relaxed setting. We sponsor 18 competitive club sports that play other schools. We also offer 36 intramural programs like tennis, beach volleyball, broomball (like hockey with brooms), basketball, water polo, KanJam and wiffle ball. Club sports can either be recreational or competitive.
