For those ready to retire, learn withdrawal sequencing strategies to help optimize Social Security benefits, lower taxes, extend the longevity of a retirement portfolio and improve tax impacts on widows and heirs. The attached is an announcement regarding OER’s DIRECTIONS: pre-retirement planning webinar which has been developed to assist eligible New York State employees in planning for one of the most challenging and exciting periods in life – retirement! Therefore, please post and announce this webinar to eligible staff on your campuses.
The Office of Mental Health offers all employees an opportunity to practice various coping skills and strengthen their resilience through OMH Wellness Groups, which aligns with OMH’s vision of supporting a healthy workplace environment. The groups include deep breathing and simulation exercises to allow employees to practice rather than have group discussions. Group sessions offer a warm, inviting space that fosters relaxation virtually and provides examples of calming techniques and basic coping skills.
The Operational Services Unit (OSU) clothing allowance is back for fiscal year 2024-2025. The payment to individuals is limited to $78.00 per fiscal year, for each full-time OSU employee performing traditional “hands-on” operational duties and who were on the payroll on October 1, 2024.
Employees on approved leave status, including employees on Workers’ Compensation Leave, on the eligibility payroll date, and who otherwise satisfy the eligibility criteria, are entitled to the allowance upon their return to duty as long as the return date does not exceed beyond March 31, 2025.
