Steps to obtaining aid
File the FAFSA
To be eligible for federal financial aid, all students — first-time and returning, transfer and grad students — must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Discover Additional Types of Aid
Students and their supporters beginning the college financial aid process will find there are many types of aid available.
Accept Aid
When the good news of awarded funds arrives, your next step is to say yes (or no). Supporters applying for loans have a few additional steps.
Maintain Aid
Current students must meet minimum academic and enrollment requirements to keep their aid year to year. Dropping classes or withdrawing from Oswego may impact your aid.
Transfer Aid
If you are transferring to Oswego from another institution, you’ll need to update your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and communicate with your previous school and outside entities providing you with aid.
Receive Aid
You’ll work with the Office of Student Accounts to manage disbursed funds including refunds. Other aid may involve extra steps.
