Early Arrival & Late Stay Requests
Students may request to return early to campus at the beginning of each semester or request to stay late at the end of each semester. These requests are not automatically approved and students need to provide the reason they need this accommodation. Approved reasons to arrive early or stay late typically include:
- Needing to be on campus to complete an academic or athletic obligation
- Needing to attend a training or provide a service for an on-campus job or position
- Experiencing unavoidable travel conflicts
The daily rate to arrive early or stay late is $20 for housing plus any applicable dining fees (if the dining halls are serving meals). For students arriving early or staying late because they are required to be on campus to complete a training, campus service, or other campus-related obligation, housing fees may be charged to the sponsoring department or waived entirely.
Staffing and services in our residential communities are limited during these periods. Therefore, in order to maintain necessary security, special policies are in effect above and beyond the University and Residence Life and Housing policies. Please review and submit the Early Arrival Agreement with your request. Residents who receive approval are responsible for abiding by the stated protocols.
