The Department of Civil Service is alerting you, at your request, that the following examination announcements have been updated and added to our public website.
The State University of New York (“SUNY”) provides employees with the opportunity to save for their retirement through the SUNY Voluntary 403(b) Savings Plan (the “Plan”). Participation in the SUNY Voluntary Savings Plan is a great way to build your retirement savings through pre-tax and/or post-tax payroll deduction contributions.
The Operational Services Unit (OSU) clothing allowance is back for fiscal year 2023-2024. The payment to individuals is limited to $78.00 per fiscal year, for each full-time OSU employee performing traditional “hands-on” operational duties and who were on the payroll on October 1, 2023.
Employees on approved leave status, including employees on Workers’ Compensation Leave, on the eligibility payroll date, and who otherwise satisfy the eligibility criteria, are entitled to the allowance upon their return to duty as long as the return date does not exceed beyond March 31, 2024.
The Minimum Wage for student assistant employees will increase from $14.20 to $15.00 per hour, effective December 21, 2023.
All student assistant employees currently paid below $15.00 will receive an automatic wage increase to the new minimum and no action is necessary. For any other hourly rate changes for Student Assistant Employees, a Student Assistant Appointment form will need to be completed and submitted to the Payroll Office.
We have received notice that the health insurance rates for 2024 have been established. The deadline for changing health insurance options is December 29, 2023.
