Guidelines
Follow the recommendations below or read more from the CDC for preventing the spread of respiratory viruses.
- Stay up to date with vaccinations (COVID, FLU, RSV if eligible).
- Practice good hygiene (cover coughs and sneezes, wash or sanitize hands often, clean frequently touched surfaces).
- Take steps for cleaner air (bring in more fresh air, purify indoor air, gather outdoors).
If you experience symptoms such as fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, or headaches:
- Stay home and away from others.
- You can return to normal activities when both of the following are true for at least 24 hours:
- Symptoms are improving and
- No fever without the use of fever-reducing medicine.
- When returning to normal activities, take added precautions for the next 5 days when around others:
- Wearing a mask.
- Practicing good hygiene.
- Testing if warranted.
- Maintaining physical distancing and cleaner air.
- People can still spread the virus even if feeling better.
- If you develop a fever or feel worse, stay home and repeat the return-to-normal strategies.
