At-Home STI Testing

At-Home Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea is available for pickup at the Health Services front desk, or the Oz Health Hub vending machines on campus. Vending machines are located in Penfield's 24-hour room and the Laker Lounge (below Swetman gym in Marano Campus Center). This kit is for screening only, and should not be used if you are experiencing symptoms.

The At-home STI kits have:

  • A brown bag
  • Biohazard bag
  • A collection cup
  • Instructions

Before You Order, please review the following:

  • This kit does not test for all STIs, and how well it works depends on your sexual activity. To figure out what tests you need, we recommend using the STD Wizard.
  • If you had a new sexual partner recently, wait 1-2 weeks before testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia.
  • If you have symptoms, were possibly exposed in the last week (like a broken condom), or have been the survivor of an assault, this testing option may not be the right fit. Please call the Health Services nurse triage line at 315.312.4100, option 2. For emergencies, call 911.
  • Tests are sent to Laboratory Alliance, and they will bill your health insurance. Please make sure your insurance information is up to date at the Health Services front desk. If you do not want to use your insurance, schedule an appointment with one of our providers to talk about other testing options.

After you get your kit:

  1. Collect your urine sample first thing in the morning using the cup in your kit.
  2. Fill out the label in your bag. Make sure your name and date of birth are easy to read.
  3. Put the label on the urine cup,
  4. Place the cup in the plastic biohazard bag, then put that bag in the brown paper bag.
  5. Return your sample to Health Services the same day you take the test.
    • Drop-off hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm. Please bring your ID Card.

How Will I Get My Results?
