The open enrollment period for 2021 Flex Spending Account is November 2, 2020 to November 30, 2020. The Flex Spending Account (FSA) includes the Dependent Care Advantage Account (DCAAccount), the HealthCare Spending Account (HCSAccount), and the Adoption Advantage Account.
As each member of the campus community continues to play a key role in helping SUNY Oswego flatten the curve and slow the spread of COVID-19, we want to ensure that we are doing everything to remain healthy for the rest of the semester.
With Election Day right around the corner we wanted to remind everyone of the legislation passed in April, 2020 amending the Election Law. Employees may take up to two hours of paid leave to vote in any election in New York State, when the employee does not have sufficient time to vote before or after their work shift.
If an employee has four consecutive hours either between the opening of the polls and the beginning of the employee’s work shift, or between the end of their work shift and the closing of the polls, that employee is considered to have sufficient time to vote.
As you may know, SUNY and PEF have executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) requiring mandatory COVID-19 testing of PEF employees. In addition, the college has mandated testing for all other non-represented employees. As a result, effective immediately, all nursing staff&nbs
UUP employees who have accrued holidays and/or floating holidays during the period of May 2019 through September 2019 will have the ability to carry over these accruals through December 31, 2020. Normally these earned holidays expire if not charged within one year. These accrued holidays will automatically carry over through December 31, 2020. Any holiday and/or floating holidays accrued during this time period will not expire as usual.

Each year, the SUNY Oswego community gathers to honor employees represented by CSEA, PBA, NYSCOPBA and PEF who have dedicated several years of service to SUNY Oswego. This event gives our community a chance to say thank you and to celebrate this milestone with the honorees. This year the 31st Classified Employee Recognition in-person luncheon did not take place.
The Statewide Telecommuting Pilot Program that has been in place since March 2020 for state employees has been further extended for CSEA, UUP and PEF-represented employees as well as management/confidential employees through January 1, 2021. SUNY Oswego will continue to encourage the use of the telecommuting policy through January 1 in an effort to limit the spread of the virus. All telecommuting arrangements should continue to be coordinated between the employee and their supervisor.
October is National Retirement Security Month (NRSM), this is a national event to promote the benefits of saving for retirement. This month we are encouraging everyone to think about their retirement plans and to review all available options, including employer-sponsored offered by SUNY. Here is information on the retirement plans and supplemental retirement savings plans available to SUNY Oswego employees.
As you may know, the State and Unions have executed several MOU’s requiring mandatory COVID-19 testing of represented employees. Effective immediately, all MC and Affiliated employees who are required to report to campus in person for some or all of their work obligations are required to get tested on campus for COVID-19.
