NYS CSEA Partnership Administrative Assistant Traineeship

The NYS & CSEA Partnership for Education and Training will be offering several opportunities for you to acquire the coursework you will need to complete to qualify for appointment to the new Administrative Assistant I job title.  For more information, please view attached flyer.

NYS CSEA Online Learning Certificates

The NYS & CSEA Partnership for Education and Training is pleased to announce four new online learning certificate programs for CSEA-represented New York State employees. These four certificate programs will also serve as the alternatives to the four mandatory in-person courses required for the new Administrative Assistant Traineeship.

The Customer Service Certificate Program provides a self-directed way for employees to acquire useful tips for working effectively with customers.

SUNY Self-Service Options

As a reminder, SUNY Oswego employees can access the Human Resources Self-Service module which allows employees to update personnel information via the SUNY HR portal (same system used for time and attendance). It is a good time of year to take a look at your information and make any necessary updates!

NYS CSEA Partnership Skills for Success Opportunities

The NYS & CSEA Partnership for Education and Training (Partnership) is pleased to announce the spring 2020 Skills for Success courses. Skills for Success courses provide CSEA-represented employees with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to meet their personal and professional development goals.  Please see attached catalog for course descriptions, dates and locations.  

UUP Salary Equity Study

During negotiations for the 2016-2022 State/UUP Agreement, the parties agreed to develop guidelines and a methodology for a salary equity study to be conducted at each campus. The purpose of such study is to identify compression and inversion for UUP-represented employees. Salary inversion may exist when new employees are hired at salaries higher than experienced employees; compression may exist when salaries of experienced employees fail to maintain distance above salaries of new employees.

Important Notice: 12/24/19 Paycheck Pickup Information

We would like to remind Faculty and Staff that paychecks will be available on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 due to the normal payday falling on a holiday. Departments that pick up checks from Student Accounts are asked to do so by Noon on 12/24. If checks are not picked up by that time, they will not be available until Thursday, December 26th. 

Regular Office Hours Return

Effective Monday, August 19, 2019, office hours for Classified Service office employees will return to regular hours 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with a one hour lunch break.

Paid Family Leave program (PFL)

Effective January 1, 2019, the Paid Family Leave program (PFL) will become available to MC13 and UUP-represented employees.

PFL provides job-protected, paid leave for eligible employees to bond with a new child, care for a loved one with a serious health condition, and assist with relieving family pressures when a loved one is called to active military service abroad.
