Option Transfer, Opt Out Program, Tax Change Period
2021 Option Transfer
We have received notice that the health insurance rates for 2021 have been established. The deadline for changing health insurance options is December 31, 2020. The 2021 Health Insurance Choices booklet, which outlines the benefits of each plan, is available here.
OSU Clothing Allowance Announcement
The Operational Services Unit (OSU) clothing allowance is back for fiscal year 2020-2021. The payment to individuals is limited to $65.00 per fiscal year, for each full-time OSU employee performing traditional “hands-on” operational duties and who were on the payroll on October 1, 2020.
Travel Advisory Announcement
New York State updated its guidelines related to travel outside of New York State* on November 4, 2020.
For travelers who were out-of-state for more than 24 hours: Travelers must obtain a test within three days of departure, prior to arrival in New York.
*The traveler must, upon arrival in New York, quarantine for three days.
The SUNY Voluntary Savings Plan 2021 Universal Availability Notice
The State University of New York (SUNY) provides employees with the opportunity to save for their retirement through the SUNY Voluntary 403(b) Savings Plan (the Plan). Participation in the SUNY Voluntary Savings Plan is a great way to build your retirement savings.
2021 CSEA PEP Enrollment
The 2021 Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) allows eligible employees represented by CSEA to exchange vacation and/or personal leave for a credit to be applied toward their health insurance premium. The PEP Credit will be applied to biweekly paychecks issued between January 1st and December 31st of 2021.
The enrollment period for the 2021 calendar year is through November 30, 2020.
Supervisor COVID-19 Reporting Procedure and Form Update
Supervisors are reminded to report any instance of a COVID-19 symptomatic employee or COVID-19 positive employee to Human Resources.

2021 Flex Spending Open Enrollment
The open enrollment period for 2021 Flex Spending Account is November 2, 2020 to November 30, 2020. The Flex Spending Account (FSA) includes the Dependent Care Advantage Account (DCAAccount), the HealthCare Spending Account (HCSAccount), and the Adoption Advantage Account.
Employees reminded to test for COVID-19 every three weeks
As each member of the campus community continues to play a key role in helping SUNY Oswego flatten the curve and slow the spread of COVID-19, we want to ensure that we are doing everything to remain healthy for the rest of the semester.
Election Day Paid Time Off To Vote Guidelines
With Election Day right around the corner we wanted to remind everyone of the legislation passed in April, 2020 amending the Election Law. Employees may take up to two hours of paid leave to vote in any election in New York State, when the employee does not have sufficient time to vote before or after their work shift.
If an employee has four consecutive hours either between the opening of the polls and the beginning of the employee’s work shift, or between the end of their work shift and the closing of the polls, that employee is considered to have sufficient time to vote.
