Potential Spam email regarding Flex Spending
We have been advised that “Fringepay.com” has sent a mailing to some SUNY employees, which includes a “Benefits Debit Mastercard” and a statement indicating that the card “may be linked to a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA), Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), Dependent Care Account (DCA), Transit/Parking Account, or other benefit account”. The FringePay web site notes that FringePay is the new version of “benepass”, and features fillable fields including card number and social security number.
Annual Leave Expiration Extension – All Bargaining Units and Management Confidential Employees
We are pleased to inform you that the annual vacation accrual cap has been extended for all bargaining units and management/confidential employees. Normally, any vacation accruals in excess of 40 days at the close of business on December 31st are forfeited to bring vacation leave credits down to 40 days on January 1st. However, unused annual leave can now be carried over for an additional year through December 31, 2022.
These changes will automatically be reflected in the SUNY Time and Attendance system. No action on your part is necessary.
Flex Spending Open Enrollment 2022
The open enrollment period for 2022 Flex Spending Account is November 2, 2021 to November 29, 2021. The Flex Spending Account (FSA) includes the Dependent Care Advantage Account (DCAAccount) and the HealthCare Spending Account (HCSAccount).
UUP PEP 2022
The 2022 Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) allows eligible employees represented by UUP to exchange vacation leave for a credit to be applied toward their health insurance premium. The PEP Credit will applied to biweekly paychecks issued between January 1st and December 31st of 2022.
The enrollment period for the 2022 calendar year is from Tuesday November 2 to Monday November 29, 2021.
CSEA PEP 2022

Dependent Care Advantage Account changes for 2021
There has been an update to the 2021 Dependent Care Advantage Account (DCAA) to include two changes allowed by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021:

New SUNY-Wide Telecommuting Policy
As we continue to prepare for a robust fall opening and welcoming our students back to campus, employees are reminded that the Pilot Statewide Telecommuting Program has expired and all operations are to be conducted on-campus to ensure an in-person and engaging welcome for our students. We greatly appreciate the efforts all offices have made to arrange for a full, in-person return to the workplace. Your extraordinary dedication to serving our campus community is remarkable.
Flexible Spending Dependent Care Advantage Account Extension for 2020
The grace period for the 2020 plan year has been extended. Employees can now submit claims for expenses incurred between January 1, 2020 - September 15, 2021 for reimbursement from their 2020 Dependent Care Advantage Account (DCAA). Additionally, employees can seek reimbursement for children who turned 13 during the 2020 plan year from their 2020 DCAA. The last day to submit DCAA claims is September 30, 2021 for expenses incurred through September 15, 2021.
