Public Service Loan Forgiveness program
Dear SUNY Oswego employees,
Do you have a federal student loan? If so, you may be able to benefit from temporary changes made to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. These changes, called the “Limited PSLF Waiver,” are helping borrowers across the nation more easily get their loans forgiven – but if you haven’t already applied for PSLF, you must submit a PSLF form and/or consolidate your non-Direct federal student loans by October 31 to get the benefit.

Department of Civil Service recently announced that the following examination announcements have been updated and added to their public website.
Summer Office Hours 2022
Summer hours for office employees will begin effective Monday, May 16, 2022. Hours will be 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with a one-half hour lunch break. Summer hours will remain in effect through Friday, August 12, 2022. Regular office hours will resume as of Monday, August 15, 2022. If you have any questions, please contact the HR Office at [email protected], or visit the HR website for the most up-to-date information from your Human Resources and Payroll offices.

2022 Annual Mandatory Training
Human Resources would like to announce the annual rollout of mandatory online training courses through the Thomson Reuters Compliance Learning Program. These include: Preventing Workplace Violence, Domestic Violence Prevention in the Workplace, Child Sexual Abuse Reporting, Preventing Discrimination and Harassment, Internal Controls Essentials, Right to Know, and Information Security Awareness.
Waiver for Holiday Compensation
The collective bargaining agreements between the State and CSEA, NYSCOPBA, PBANYS, and PEF allow employees to waive holiday compensation.

Extension of SUNY-Wide Telecommuting Policy
As previously communicated, the SUNY telecommuting policy issued on August 2, 2021 is set to expire on December 31, 2021. This policy has been extended through June 30, 2022 with no other changes.
At this time, any existing previously approved telecommuting arrangements will continue as-is. Should there be a change to your approved telecommuting agreement, you will be notified directly by Human Resources. Employees with existing approved agreements are not required to re-apply at this time.
