For Campus Events and Activities Policy Guidance
This document outlines key policies and expectations governing the planning and execution of campus events and activities at SUNY Oswego. As a public institution, the University reserves the right to regulate the time, place, and manner of speech and facility use in content-neutral manner, consistent with applicable laws and institutional policies.

Prohibited Conduct

The following actions are prohibited in connection with campus events and activities, including but not limited to:

  • Posting promotional materials in a false or misleading manner;
  • Use of electronically amplified sound in the Academic Quad, including the Designated Public Forum, and all areas near academic buildings during class hours due to the high risk of disrupting instruction.  This restriction applies on all class days from the start of the first scheduled class to the end of the last scheduled class.
  • Removal of University furnishings, including tables and chairs, from any building for event purposes without prior written approval from the appropriate administrative unit.

Failure to comply with University policies may result in one or more of the following actions:

  • Verbal or written warning;
  • Immediate cancellation of event;
  • Referral to the Office of Student Conduct or the Office of Human Resources, as appropriate.

Facility Use Requests
