Residence Life and Housing

Living on campus is a vital part of your college experience, and we take pride in the welcoming, supportive community fostered by our lakeshore campus residents.

Research shows that living in a residence hall enhances student success by:

  • Connecting you to essential campus resources,
  • Supporting a smooth transition to university life, and
  • Providing fun, meaningful engagement opportunities that complement classroom learning.

Our residence halls are more than just a place to sleep—they’re your home. Here, you’ll meet new people, build lasting friendships, and enjoy exciting experiences. Plus, living on campus means you’re steps away from classes, student organizations, dining, fitness centers, the health center, bus stops, and campus events.

New Incoming Students

The New Student Housing Process is for incoming first-year, transfer, international and graduate students. First-year students are assigned with other first-year students as their roommates in our traditional residence halls of Cayuga, Johnson and Oneida halls (new first year students only), Hart, Waterbury, and Scales. All new first-year students are required to live on campus the first two years. All halls are staffed and offer programs to assist first-year students.
