Embedded Tutor

Embedded tutors are model students who assist others both in and out of the classroom.  Being an academic position, the peer tutor role has several minimum requirements.  

Requirements

  • maintain a cumulative and current GPA of at least 2.75
  • be in good academic standing
  • applicant's conduct record must be positive
  • earn a B+ or greater in embedded course
  • obtain at least one academic reference
  • satisfactorily complete GST308 - Peer Tutor Training during first semester on staff (held Fridays 3-5p)

Peer tutors are compensated at an hourly rate based on experience. The starting pay rates for undergraduate and graduate tutors in January 2026 are $17.85 and $19.85 respectively.
