Embedded Tutor

Embedded tutors are model students who assist others both in and out of the classroom. Being an academic position, the peer tutor role has several minimum requirements.

Requirements

maintain a cumulative and current GPA of at least 2.75
be in good academic standing
applicant's conduct record must be positive
earn a B+ or greater in embedded course
obtain at least one academic reference
satisfactorily complete GST308 - Peer Tutor Training during first semester on staff (held Fridays 3-5p)

Peer tutors are compensated at an hourly rate based on experience. The starting pay rates for undergraduate and graduate tutors in January 2026 are $17.85 and $19.85 respectively.
