Telecommuting Program Extended through Jan. 1, 2021
The Statewide Telecommuting Pilot Program that has been in place since March 2020 for state employees has been further extended for CSEA, UUP and PEF-represented employees as well as management/confidential employees through January 1, 2021. SUNY Oswego will continue to encourage the use of the telecommuting policy through January 1 in an effort to limit the spread of the virus. All telecommuting arrangements should continue to be coordinated between the employee and their supervisor.
October is National Retirement Security Month (NRSM)
October is National Retirement Security Month (NRSM), this is a national event to promote the benefits of saving for retirement. This month we are encouraging everyone to think about their retirement plans and to review all available options, including employer-sponsored offered by SUNY. Here is information on the retirement plans and supplemental retirement savings plans available to SUNY Oswego employees.
Mandatory COVID-19 testing of MC and Affiliated employees
As you may know, the State and Unions have executed several MOU’s requiring mandatory COVID-19 testing of represented employees. Effective immediately, all MC and Affiliated employees who are required to report to campus in person for some or all of their work obligations are required to get tested on campus for COVID-19.
Employee COVID-19 (saliva) testing is held at the Lee Hall Testing Center every week according to the schedule listed below:

Federal Payroll Tax Holiday
This message is in response to questions and concerns about the Federal Payroll Tax Holiday. At this time, SUNY Oswego has received no information from the Office of State Comptroller (OSC) regarding the payroll tax holiday put into effect this month by Executive Order of the federal government. The Executive Order provides for Social Security tax normally withheld from payroll to be deferred through the end of 2020 and repaid in 2021. However, SUNY Oswego cannot implement the deferral of such tax without further direction from OSC and SUNY.

Undergraduate Student Assistant Appointment Process
Due to budget restrictions and limitations, undergraduate student hiring is only allowed on a critical basis and requires the respective Vice President approval. The information outlined here does not provide permission to hire, but rather contains information about the new electronic process for submitting approved undergraduate student appointment forms.
Employee Training: "New York State COVID-19 Response: Return to Work" video
SUNY Oswego's Office of Human Resources is announcing today the launch of the “New York State COVID-19 Response: Return to Work” training video. All employees are required to complete this 12-minute training video.
