Mental health crisis

Rapid access appointments are available Monday–Friday, 9 am–12 pm and 1–3:30 pm to see a crisis counselor.

Crisis sessions are available and designed to assist students facing:

  • Life-threatening situations
  • Serious mental illness
  • Recent or current traumatic events
  • Concerns for personal safety or the safety of others
  • And/or an inability to function

During a crisis appointment, the student will undergo a brief 10-15 minute assessment known as "triage." Based on the situation, the counselor may allocate additional time, up to 45 minutes, to help the student stabilize. If the situation is deemed non-urgent, the crisis counselor will assist in scheduling a regular appointment for a later time.
