Exam and quiz accommodations, ranging from extended test time to alternate test locations, are available for students registered with Accessibility Resources.
Scheduling Guidelines
- Schedule your exam at least 3 working days in advance (Requests for Monday exams should be submitted by the previous Thursday)
- You are expected to take your exam at the same time as the class unless there is a time conflict. If there is a schedule conflict, it is the student's responsibility to arrange an agreeable time with your professor. Accessibility Resources will not change exam times unless it has been verified and accepted by your professors.
This semester, students are scheduling exams through their myARO Student Portal! Use this How to Schedule Exams resource document, or follow the steps below to sign up:
- Log into myARO with your SUNY Oswego SSO
- From the My Dashboard > Overview screen, locate the Accommodations lefthand sidebar menu, and click on Alternative Testing.
- Select a course from the dropdown menu and click Schedule an Exam.
- In the Exam Request box, enter the scheduling information and accommodations you would like to use on the test, and click Add Exam Request
- Make sure you verify that your exam is at the same time as the class, unless approved by your professor. If that time interferes with another class/exam, ensure you get professor approval to take the exam at another time
- You may view your scheduled exams on the Alternative Testing homescreen under Upcoming Exams Scheduled. You can change or cancel an exam request by clicking “View” next to the exam in the Upcoming Exams list on the main Alternative Testing page.
Before your Exam or Quiz
- Remind your professor the class prior to your assessment that you will be taking your exam with Accessibility Resources (MCC 155).
- You should arrive at OAR ten minutes before the time of your assessment.
- There are phone chargers available to charge your phone during your assessment.
