Types of Accommodations

After meeting with someone from the Accessibility Resources team, students have the opportunity to be granted accommodations and assistive technologies for the semester.

What is an accommodation?

A reasonable accommodation is a modification or adjustment to provide equal access to instruction, assessment, or typical practices and procedures. The Americans with Disabilities Act protects the civil rights of people with disabilities, which encompasses providing reasonable accommodations.

What is Assistive Technology?

Assistive technology is any item, piece of equipment, software program, or product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of persons with disabilities.
