Market Volatility Concerns
For campus employees feeling anxiety about the stock market and your retirement savings, now would be an excellent time to pick up the phone to speak with one of our approved SUNY-focused Financial Counselors and Advisers.
Many Americans are anxious right now due to the rollout of new U.S. tariffs this past week. With heightened market volatility, investors are worried about their retirement accounts (i.e., SUNY ORP and/or 403b/457b) and some are trying to time the market or pulling their investments.
April Wellness Group Calendar
The Office of Mental Health offers all employees an opportunity to practice various coping skills and strengthen their resilience through OMH Wellness Groups, which aligns with OMH’s vision of supporting a healthy workplace environment. The groups include deep breathing and simulation exercises to allow employees to practice rather than have group discussions. Group sessions offer a warm, inviting space that fosters relaxation virtually and provides examples of calming techniques and basic coping skills.

2025-2026 Tuition Benefits Program Now Available
Tuition Benefits Program Now Open
We are pleased to announce the Partnership's Tuition Benefits Program for 2025 - 2026 is now available with some enhancements!
CSEA-represented NYS employees can now save more on tuition for degrees, essential skills, and certifications. Eligible employees can receive up to $5,000 in tuition benefits, and an additional $2,500 for certain high-demand NYS training programs.
Flex Spending Account Reimbursements for Eligible Expenses (2024)
The Office of Human Resources would like to remind all New York State employees who contributed to a "Flex Spending Account" (FSA) in 2024, that the plan year ends on December 31, but you still have 90 days from this date to send in documentation of qualifying expenses you incurred during the plan year. So, you have until March 31, 2025 to submit claims for services rendered from January 1 through December 31 of the preceding year.
Benefit Update Reminders
View and Update Your Beneficiaries— Reminder that active employees should periodically review their retirement plan beneficiary designations and update them if needed regarding in-service death benefits. Life circumstances sometimes change, and the beneficiary you may have named before might not be the one you would choose today. Members should also make sure their beneficiary’s contact information is up to date.
