This award is named in honor of Daniel B. Griffin (B'92 M'00), a dedicated Higher Education administrator and educational leader at SUNY Oswego. Dan was a long-time administrator of Undergraduate Admissions at Oswego and supported a student-centric priority that supported the unique needs of students in the ever-evolving college environment. This scholarship will recognize an outstanding graduate student whose passion for higher education is an example of the developing leadership necessary for college success.

- Must be accepted into/applying for the Higher Education Leadership program at SUNY Oswego
- Essay: Submit a 500 - 1,000 word essay discussing your reasons for seeking or furthering a career in higher education. Address your position on student first philosophy and how it pertains to professions in higher education.
