Curriculum & Instruction Field Experience

Candidates are expected to attend their placement every week during the semester. 

Block I and II candidates must attend their placement for 2.5 to 3 hours weekly. For Block III candidates, time spent in the classroom can vary from 1.5 to 3 full days per week, depending on the program that you are in. Make sure you have a clear understanding of the program requirements before heading into Block III. 

Fall 2025

C&I Field Experience Dates

  • Block I: September 15 - December 5
  • Block II: September 8 - December 5
  • Block III: September 2 - December 5

Spring 2026

C&I Field Experience Dates

  • Block I: February 9–May 8
  • Block II: February 2–May 8
  • Block III: January 26–May 8

Registration and Sign-up Days 

Curriculum and Instruction candidates must register for field experience courses via MyOswego, just like other classes. After registering, attend a sign-up day at the end of the prior semester to complete your placement application. Sign-ups are held in 208 Park Hall (Computer Lab). If you cannot attend, visit the Clinical Practice and Partnerships Office in 175 Wilber Hall to complete the required paperwork. 

Set aside at least 15 minutes on one of the dates below to finish your Tk20 application. Do not miss class to complete this process. 

Important: Be sure to register for the correct courses through MyOswego and reserve a 5-hour block in your schedule for placements.

Spring 2026

In-person sign-ups

Sign ups will be conducted in the computer lab for the following dates: April 27, 28, and 29 during the Spring 2026 semester. 

Orientation and Training

Students must attend orientation sessions based on the block they are in for each semester.

 

Block I - EDU 303

Orientation

One in-person sessions, attend only one session

C&I Group Advisement Zoom Meeting

Two remote sessions, only attend one session

Information about this orientation will be sent to you by the Curriculum & Instruction Advisement Center via email; please watch your email carefully! All Block I candidates MUST attend one of these sessions in order to complete field experience.
