SUNY Oswego provides a variety of resources to address food security among our students, staff, and faculty, such as the on-campus food pantry, The SHOP, SNAP application assistance, emergency meal swipes, and summer dining scholarships. These resources are supported and funded by Auxiliary Services and generous donors.
Please review the following food resources that may best fit your needs. If you're not sure where to start, complete the Basic Needs Request form and we will help.
SHOP
Students Helping Oz Peers, or The SHOP, is a food, toiletry, and clothing pantry available to students, faculty, and staff for free. Visit the SHOP page to learn more about accessing the pantry.
SNAP Application Assistance
If you are in need of additional help purchasing groceries, SNAP may be able to help. To learn more or receive assistance in applying for SNAP benefits, please complete the SNAP eligibility screening tool. If eligible, a case manager will reach back out to assist you in applying for SNAP benefits.
Emergency Meal Swipes
Emergency meal swipes provide short-term support for students experiencing food insecurity or disruptions to their regular access to meals. If approved for the resource, emergency meal swipes are added to a student’s meal plan so they may access on-campus dining halls. Contact the Office of the Dean of Students at [email protected] or call (315) 312-5483 to request this resource.
Break Meal Services and Assistance
Students staying over break periods have access to dining halls at no additional cost. This excludes summer sessions. To see which dining halls and retail locations are open, please visit the Break Meal Services page.
If students are staying on campus during summer sessions, they will be charged for the summer meal plan. Students in need of financial assistance may apply for a partial summer dining award. To learn how to apply, visit the Break Housing and Partial Dining Award Support page. To see which dining halls and retail locations are open, please visit the Break Meal Services page.
