Temporary Appointments
An electronic Unclassified Service Appointment Form must be completed through Hirezon/Interview Exchange for all initial appointments and any extensions or renewals. Employees are automatically terminated from payroll on the end date indicated on the appointment form. To avoid termination, any extension or renewal must be processed in a timely manner.
At the time of renewal, the original Performance Program for the upcoming year and the Evaluation for the previous year must be sent to the HR Office.
Term Appointments
An electronic Unclassified Service Appointment Form must be completed through Hirezon/Interview Exchange for initial appointments and for each annual renewal during the seven (7) years leading up to eligibility for permanent appointment.
Each year, the original Performance Program for the upcoming year and the Evaluation from the previous year must be sent to the HR Office along with the renewal.
Permanent Appointments
Once an employee has completed seven (7) years of full-time consecutive service and the supervisor wishes to recommend permanent appointment, the following documents are required:
- An up-to-date Performance Program
- An Evaluation noting the recommendation for permanent appointment
All documents must be sent to the next-level supervisor for review and approval. If approved, the evaluation (noting the recommendation) is signed and forwarded to Human Resources for processing.
After an employee receives permanent appointment, an annual unclassified appointment form is no longer required. However, the original Performance Program for the upcoming year and the Evaluation from the previous year must continue to be submitted to the HR Office annually.
Appendix A Appointments
An electronic Unclassified Service Appointment Form must be completed through Hirezon/Interview Exchange for all initial Appendix A appointments and each renewal thereafter.
Employees should receive three (3) one-year renewals before transitioning to five-year appointments. The original Performance Program for the upcoming year and the Evaluation from the previous year must be sent to the HR Office annually.
