Message from the Chief Technology Officer

Welcome to the Digital Campus of SUNY Oswego.

At SUNY Oswego, we believe technology should be more than just a tool—it should be a catalyst for learning, creativity, inclusivity, and transformation. Our Campus Technology Services (CTS) team, comprised of nearly 50 dedicated professionals, is proud to power the systems and services that help students, faculty, and staff thrive—on campus and beyond.

In a time of rapid technological change, we understand the importance of staying agile, innovative, and student-centered. That’s why we’ve built a Digital Campus that supports seamless, secure, and intuitive access to the services and systems that matter most—anytime, anywhere.

Our Goal

We want to deliver a digital experience that is:

  • Easy to navigate and accessible to all
  • Supported by a highly skilled and responsive workforce
  • Designed with innovation and adaptability at its core
  • Built on secure, resilient systems with a strong commitment to privacy, data protection, and continuous improvement in cybersecurity practices
  • Empowering decision-making through timely, secure access to data

Fostering a Culture of Innovation

We’re proud to invest in programs that spark bold ideas and support innovation in the classroom and across disciplines. Some of our current initiatives include:

  • Technology Innovation Program (TIP) Grants – TIP grants fund faculty-led projects that bring emerging technologies into their teaching and learning.
  • Generative AI Faculty Fellowships – Twenty-five faculty are exploring the potential of artificial intelligence in their pedagogy and discipline.
  • Digital Accessibility Faculty Fellowships – Twenty-four faculty members have participated in the program, which allows them to explore how to expand digital accessibility in their teaching and inside their discipline as the campus works to promote a culture of accessibility, inclusiveness, and belonging.

These efforts reflect our belief that the best ideas often come from those closest to the work—and that the future of campus technology is one we build together.

Guided by Values, Driven by Impact

As we continue evolving our digital landscape, we stay grounded in a clear set of values. These values shape how we prioritize, operate, and measure success, keeping us aligned with the College’s mission and strategic direction.

Client Centered

CTS strives to offer the services and support that are required to make our students and the College successful.

Collaborate & Cooperate

We work with our clients to ensure technology projects lead to the business outcomes that we have outlined and deliver the impact we are aiming for.

Effective Communicators

CTS works to ensure that our stakeholders have the information and knowledge they require to work efficiently and effectively.

Results Driven

CTS recognizes the need for shared responsibility for results to ensure that we receive the proper value from our investments. We work to ensure we deliver the outcomes on time and on budget.

Security and Trust

In today’s digital world, security is not optional—it’s foundational.

Our digital campus is built on secure, resilient systems with a strong commitment to privacy, data protection, and continuous improvement in cybersecurity practices. We work proactively to safeguard the information entrusted to us by students, faculty, and staff, while ensuring the systems we rely on remain available, reliable, and responsive.

CTS follows industry best practices, engages in ongoing risk assessments, and partners across campus to promote a culture of security awareness. From data governance to endpoint protection, we’re investing in the people, processes, and technologies that protect our campus today—and prepare us for tomorrow.

Our People Make the Difference

At the heart of SUNY Oswego’s digital campus is a team of talented, dedicated professionals who make it all possible. The CTS staff are not only highly skilled in their technical fields—they are also deeply committed to client service, collaboration, and helping every member of our campus community succeed.

Whether they’re implementing new systems, resolving support requests, or partnering on classroom innovations, our team brings curiosity, care, and professionalism to everything they do. Their work enables others to teach, learn, discover, and thrive—and we couldn’t be prouder of the role they play in moving SUNY Oswego forward.
