The Campus Technology Advisory Board (CTAB), along with the Provost and Campus Technology Services (CTS) is happy to announce the allotment of funds for the Technology Innovation Program (TIP).

The Campus Technology Advisory Board (CTAB), along with the Provost and Campus Technology Services (CTS), are pleased to announce the allotment of funds for the Technology Innovation Program (TIP). This funding is intended to support academic initiatives that enhance instruction, student learning, and student engagement through technology. The program aims to further SUNY Oswego's Vision 4040 and strategic plan, Transforming Lives, Igniting Possibilities.

A total of $25,000 is available, with individual awards capped at $7,500.

TIP Priorities for Spring 2025

To ensure alignment with SUNY Oswego’s strategic goals, priority will be given to proposals that support student learning and engagement in the following areas:

Grow

  • Student Success – Technology that enhances academic achievement and supports equitable learning outcomes.
  • Active and Experiential Learning – Tools that foster hands-on, applied learning experiences in courses.
  • Microcredentials – Development of digital microcredentials, skills tracking portfolios, or technology-supported pathways that help students demonstrate workforce-relevant competencies.

Connect

  • Classroom-Based Community Engagement – Technology-enhanced projects that enable students to collaborate with local organizations, apply course content to real-world challenges, or develop civic engagement initiatives. Examples may include:
    • Digital storytelling projects documenting local history.
    • Interactive data analysis for community-focused research.
    • Partnerships with local schools or nonprofits to develop tech-based solutions.

Thrive

  • Inclusion and Belonging – Technology that promotes accessibility, inclusive learning, and engagement for diverse student populations.
  • Digital Accessibility – Tools that ensure course content is accessible to all learners, including students with disabilities.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Projects that explore AI-driven tools for personalized learning, research assistance, or accessibility enhancements. Examples may include:
    • AI-assisted tutoring and adaptive learning systems.
    • AI-powered language translation for multilingual support.
    • AI-based accessibility tools for enhanced learning experiences.
  • Innovative Technology for Teaching and Learning – Integrating new digital tools that enhance student engagement and academic success.

Important Notes:

  • Proposals requesting new technology not released by the submission deadline will be declined.
  • Funding is one-time only; renewals, memberships, subscriptions, and maintenance agreements are not eligible.
  • Infrastructure modifications (e.g., furniture, whiteboards, facility upgrades) will not be funded.
  • Technology requests must meet accessibility requirements.
  • Items over $2,500 require three quotes at the time of purchase. SUNY Oswego is tax-exempt; quotes must exclude tax charges.
