Guest Information

We look forward to welcoming the guests of graduates to join the campus community as we celebrate this milestone moment for the graduating class. Below is important information guests should know.

Graduates receive six commencement tickets with the purchase of regalia. Students may use this form to request additional tickets. Tickets can be picked up when you obtain your cap and gown at The College Store.

Important Day-of-Event Information

Parking

Parking for guests is available in the the following lots, convenient to the Marano Campus Center:

During the Ceremony
  • No food or drink will be permitted in the Marano Campus Center or Convocation Arena during any of the ceremonies.
  • The college requests that guests remain seated during the ceremony. Professional photographers will be taking pictures of the graduates as they cross the stage. Graduation pictures can be preordered online at geneseephoto.com. Graduates will be emailed a link from Genesee Photo Systems to view their photos.
  • Restrooms will be available for guests inside the arena. Modified restrooms to accommodate guests with disabilities are located on both levels.
  • The College Store in Marano Campus Center will be open during Commencement. Visit us in person, or place orders at the College Store online if you’d like celebratory SUNY Oswego swag and apparel!

Accommodations for Guests with Disabilities

If you or a member of your family attending commencement requires special seating, areas are reserved on both the arena floor and upper levels. There is no need to make additional requests. Please see an usher and they will assist you.

Reserved seating for our hearing-impaired guests is available and live captioning will be provided. To reserve seats in this area please complete the Special Needs Form on the Commencement webpage by Friday, Dec. 5. Modified restrooms are located on both levels.

Accessible Parking: An accessible drop-off area is available on the west side of Marano Campus Center. Handicapped parking is located in Lot 31 (west side of Penfield Library) as well as the lower level of Lot 17 and Lot 10. Once inside the building, please contact an usher for assistance with accessible seating. Guests requesting accessible seating or parking should arrive at least 45 minutes before the start of the ceremony.


 

Please Note

  • In compliance with Oswego Facilities use policy, signs, other than those used by the event organizer, that are larger than 8.5"x11" or made of anything other than cloth, paper, foam core or cardboard are prohibited at all events.
  • To ensure safety, University Police inspect all bags and purses. Please plan accordingly and allow additional time for entry.

All Commencement ceremonies and activities will be held in accordance with New York State health, safety and capacity guidelines in place at the time of the event.
