Guest Information

We look forward to welcoming the guests of graduates to join the campus community as we celebrate this milestone moment for the graduating class. Below is important information guests should know.

Graduates receive 6 commencement tickets with the purchase of regalia. Students may use this form to request additional tickets. Tickets can be picked up when you obtain your cap and gown at The College Store.

Parking

Parking for guests is available in the the following lots, convenient to the Marano Campus Center:

  • E-1
  • E-17
  • R-17
  • E-18
  • E-10
  • E-29
  • C-8
  • E-31: Handicap/VIP parking

During the Ceremony
  • No food or drink will be permitted in the Marano Campus Center or Convocation Arena during any of the ceremonies.
  • The college requests that guests remain seated during the ceremony. Professional photographers will be taking pictures of the graduates as they cross the stage. Graduation pictures can be preordered online at geneseephoto.com. Graduates will be emailed a link from Genesee Photo Systems to view their photos. 
  • Restrooms will be available for guests inside the arena. Modified restrooms to accommodate guests with disabilities are located on both levels.
  • The College Store in Marano Campus Center will be open during Commencement. Visit us in person, or place orders at the College Store online if you’d like celebratory SUNY Oswego swag and apparel!

Accommodations for Guests with Disabilities

If you or a member of your family attending commencement require special seating an area is reserved on both the concourse and upper levels. To reserve this seating please contact Accessibility Resources at 315-312-3358 prior to Friday, December 6. Modified restrooms are located on both levels. A sign language interpreter and reserved seating for individuals with hearing disabilities are also available. There is an accessible drop-off on the west side of Marano Campus Center and handicapped parking is located at lot 31 (west side of Penfield Library) as well as the lower level of lot 17 and lot 10. Once you have entered the building please contact an usher about accessible seating. Anyone requesting accessible seating or parking should arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.

Please Note

  • Commencement ceremonies will be live streamed via SUNY Oswego's YouTube channel so other family and friends can watch in their homes. Visit our Commencement Live Stream page for the link and starting times.
  • All graduating students, parents, guests, faculty and staff are invited to attend a reception following the ceremony, to be held in the Food and Activity Court.
  • Signs, other than those used by the event organizer, that are larger than 8.5"x11" or signs that are made of anything other than cloth, paper, foam core or cardboard are prohibited at all events.

All Commencement ceremonies and activities will be held in accordance with New York State health, safety and capacity guidelines in place at the time of the event.
