Auxiliary Services is an independent not-for-profit corporation located on the SUNY Oswego campus. Our goal is to provide quality ancillary services to the college community. We are a progressive, student-oriented operation, employing over 425 student employees and 130 non-student employees.

Who qualifies for student employment?

Any student who maintains full-time status is eligible for employment with Auxiliary Services. Full-time status means maintaining a minimum of 12 credit hours as an undergraduate or 9 hours as a graduate student. Last semester senior students with a minimum of 300 hours working for Auxiliary Services will also be considered full-time maintaining at least 9 credit hours for the semester. During the summer this definition will mean having maintained or maintaining full-time status for the previous, present, or upcoming semester. During the summer, students from other schools may be considered once all eligible SUNY Oswego students who have applied have been employed.

What types of jobs are available?

Students are employed in Residential Dining Services, Retail Dining and Catering, College Stores, and Accounting and Administration.

Are there any benefits?

YES. Besides wages and valuable work experience, there are also the advantages of convenient campus locations and work schedules compatible with your classes. Student employees are covered by workers' compensation, disability, and unemployment insurance. Direct deposit is available. Also, depending on the location and number of hours worked, employees in Residential Dining Services and Retail Dining are entitled to meals and/or snacks, and employees at the College Store, and its affiliates, and the Accounting & Administration office are entitled to a 10% discount at the College Store. Also available  are two different scholarships for Student Employees,  multiple winners are awarded for each.

International Students

How do I apply and what types of jobs are available?

The application process for International students seeking employment with Auxiliary Services is the same as for all students. Please see these sections on the main page of our Student Employment website.

What do I do if I am hired?

If you are part of International Education and Programs on campus and have been hired for employment with Auxiliary Services, you must complete paperwork that is unique to your International status.   If you are unsure if you are part of International Education and Programs, please call 315.312.5775, or email [email protected], or stop in at 102 Sheldon Hall.

NY State Income Tax

IF you are a NEWLY hired student, YOU MUST COMPLETE FORM IT-2014 OR Form IT-2104-E  NOT BOTH.

What is the payment procedure?

You are paid bi-weekly. You are paid on an hourly basis, in 10th of an hour increments.

A PDF containing the pay date schedule for 2026 is linked below. 

If completed tax forms are received in the Accounting Office by 4 pm on the Friday following a completed pay period, students will be paid on the next available pay date. A list of the pay periods and pay dates is provided in the tax packet and are linked below.

Students can cash their checks at Community Bank N.A. located at 100 E. First St. Oswego. They will need to show their SUNY Oswego/photo identification. Additionally, check cashing is available in the Campus Center. Students should contact 315.312.3073 for hours and fees.

Auxiliary Services also offers direct deposit of pay to an employee's financial institution upon completion of our direct deposit form. 

Payroll Dates 2026 

How much do I get paid?

Effective January 1, 2025, all regular student employees will earn a starting wage of $15.50 per hour.
Group Leaders
After completing a minimum of 150 hours with Auxiliary Services and meeting the GPA requirements, student employees who are also familiar with the corporation may apply for the position of Group Leader. This position is one of leadership and service. Group leaders are responsible for helping train, direct and guide other student employees in accomplishing their duties.
Group leaders earn $15.70 per hour.

Direct Deposit for Auxiliary Services only

How do I set up a direct deposit if I am paid by Auxiliary Services?

A student must complete the direct deposit request form in the Hire Forms Software. As a benefit to our student employees, Auxiliary Services offers direct deposit of paychecks directly into an employee's savings or checking account, including an account at banks, credit unions and most other types of financial institutions. It takes approximately two pay cycles to have a direct deposit take effect.

What if I am NOT paid through Auxiliary Services, CAN I STILL USE THIS FORM?

NO. This form is for student employees paid through Auxiliary Services. ) 
IF YOU ARE NOT PAID THROUGH AUXILIARY SERVICES, contact your manager, the accounting department in 506 Culkin Hall or stop at the location where you pick up your check to obtain the correct direct deposit form.
 

How do I stop direct deposit?

In order to stop direct deposit, you must provide the Accounting Office with a signed and dated written notification to terminate the authorization. Auxiliary Services and the Financial Institution will honor your request in a reasonable amount of time. 

What to do Once you are Hired

Your Hiring Manager will notify the Accounting Office Student Payroll Coordinator via a spotlight email.

After the Accounting Office receives this spotlight, you'll get a "Hire Forms" email to your oswego.edu email address.
