Accepting Your Offer of Admission

We’re so glad you’re ready to choose Oswego! You’re poised to begin something exciting alongside Lakers you will never forget.

Inside the Applicant Portal , you will complete the Admissions Intent to Enroll process to accept your offer and pay your admissions deposit* by May 1 (December 1 for spring term) or the date indicated in your acceptance packet (whichever is later). Unless instructed otherwise, your deposit is $100. This deposit will be credited toward your first-semester bill.

You will also indicate your on-campus housing intent, but there is no housing deposit at Oswego. Once you submit your deposit* and your Admissions Intent to Enroll you will officially be considered a new student!

Scholarships and awards require confirmation to accept them. Check your email and your Applicant Portal for notifications. You will find full scholarship terms and deadlines for individual scholarship offers within the Applicant Portal.

Accept Your Offer

*The admissions deposit does not apply to EOP or international applicants. All students, however, must complete an “intent to enroll”. These actions take place in your Applicant Portal. Applicants experiencing financial hardship may qualify for a deposit waiver. Email [email protected] for questions about deposit waivers or deposit by mail.

Send Final Transcripts

Admission and scholarship decisions are contingent upon satisfactory completion of all academic courses with grades similar to your work at the time of admission. Final transcripts must come directly from the school or college to be considered official, and include a date of graduation and degree earned, if applicable.

Schools may send official transcripts via their electronic upload services, where available — ie. Naviance, Scoir, etc — or by U.S. mail to the Office of Admissions, 229 Sheldon Hall, SUNY Oswego, Oswego, NY 13126. Student copies and faxes cannot be accepted as official transcripts.

It is your responsibility to make sure these are forwarded to the Office of Admissions as soon as they are available.

Submit Official SAT/ACT Scores

SUNY Oswego is test-optional for the fall 2023, spring 2024, and summer 2024 terms. Students who have self-reported SAT or ACT scores in their applications must submit official scores to complete the enrollment process. These scores must match self-reported scores. Official SAT and/or ACT scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to be considered.
