Clarissa Karki, an award-winning broadcasting student from Nepal, details her experiences through SUNY Oswego.

An Oswego native, Melinda Brancato ’25 is a standout example of how SUNY Oswego propels students beyond traditional learning environments into dynamic, real-world experiences.

To say sophomore broadcasting and mass communication major Kae Jimenez is active would be an understatement: She is Student Association's director of gender equality and women's affairs and director of diversity, equity and inclusion; the Student Association Programming Board special events coordinator and social media director; an Educational Opportunity Program ambassador; a rising entrepreneur and much more.

Junior graphic design major Ashley Budd, who also interns in the Sustainability Office, talks about amazing faculty, opportunities and spaces that showed Oswego was the right choice for her -- and with its bright future in Hewitt, many more students.

Jayvana Perez, a junior dual major in communication and social interaction and in criminal justice, talks about being president of the Latino Student Union, helping organize the ALANA Conference and a special 2019 project in Puerto Rico.

Gabriele Candela, a junior double major in graphic design and public relations, wears a mask and promotes doing so for very personal and significant reasons. Also learn about the many ways campus involvement has helped her thrive.

Pianist and senior music major Chris Spinelli, who was recruited by many schools for his top-tier talent, chose SUNY Oswego for its opportunities and because of an immediate connection with a faculty member.

An associate professor of art specializing in web design and interactive media, Rebecca Mushtare also serves as associate director of the college's Center of Excellence in Learning and Teaching. She has begun understanding how her many interests and activities are interconnected.
