Group Fitness

Our group fitness classes change each semester to meet students’ needs. We offer a wide range of class options, all led by trained student instructors. The class schedule is available on the first day of each semester and remains the same throughout the semester. Classes start on the first day of the semester.

Group Class Schedule

A high energy class with great music and motivating instructors guiding you through various sprints, climbs, and flats. You’ll be sure to burn plenty of calories with this fun and upbeat bike workout. Open to all, regardless of cycling experience. Seats are limited so be sure to arrive early!

This class is designed to isolate those hard to tone muscle groups… your stomach…. Gut…Thighs… Arms! A set of exercises that uses unique equipment to promote physical strength, flexibility, and posture while also increasing mental awareness.

It's low impact and adaptable to all ages and fitness levels. Unlike traditional Pilates and yoga sessions, PiYo is set up like a cardio class, designed to burn calories and make you sweat.

Undo & Renew Yoga

Enjoy a quiet and relaxing yoga class. Gentle poses and breathing exercises will be emphasized to help relieve stress and relax your body. Rejuvenating for the body and mind.

All skill levels welcome! Our class styles vary from Vinyasa, Mobility, Restorative, and Renewing Yoga. Yoga instructors will base each class on participants’ requests and skill level to ensure a positive time that will relax your body and mind. (Gentle Stretch, Power Yoga, Rise ‘n Shine Yoga, Now and Zen, No Sit Yoga)

Zumba® fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.

Personal Training

Personal training is provided to students for free through our fitness centers. All our personal trainers are students who have successfully completed our personal training class. These trainers are available to design and demonstrate a safe and effective exercise program to help you reach your goals.

Our personal training program is quite popular and we have limited numbers of personal trainers and resources. We are on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please be patient. If you have further questions or are curious how long you may have to wait, please email us at [email protected].

Personal Training Information

Individual sessions are between 30 and 60 minutes, with the entire program lasting between 2–4 weeks, depending on your goals and skill level. Our main objective is to give you the ability to exercise effectively on your own. Your personal trainer will be available for follow up appointments throughout the year.

How to sign up

You can request personal training at the front desk of either Fitness Center or by submitting the form below. We also offer the option to sign up for a one-day orientation to get acquainted with our facilities and equipment. Typically, our staff can conduct a one day orientation within a week of signing up. During the orientation, our personal trainer will show you how to use some of the equipment and get you started on a simple program.

After submitting the form, you will be contacted by one of our personal trainer coordinators to set-up a 15 minute initial evaluation. At this evaluation you will complete a basic health history and discuss your exercise goals. Following this evaluation, you will be contacted by one of our personal trainers to schedule your first meeting time. We ask that you please be on time and keep all of your appointments.

Both of our fitness centers have a variety of training equipment, weights, storage spaces, and more.

Cardio Equipment

A variety of state of the art cardio equipment, including treadmills, elliptical trainers, Arc trainers and 37 stationary bikes. Each piece of equipment is equipped with its own personal viewing screen with a full selection of cable channels.

Strength Equipment

Similar types of strength equipment can be found in both centers, including a full free weight area and Cybex selectorized circuit. The strength areas are designed to meet the needs of all fitness levels, from an absolute beginner to an advanced weight lifter.

Group Exercise Floor and Core Training Area

With over 20 group exercise classes offered every week, the exercise floor is an ideal space for our wide variety of classes. In addition, while group exercise classes are not in session, members may use this area for additional unique training opportunities. A variety of equipment is available for use in this area, including stability balls, medicine balls, yoga and floor mats, balance discs, power bars, jump ropes, plyometric boxes, gliding discs, bosu balls, steps, rubber coated dumbbells and resistance bands/tubing.

Showers, Changing, Storage Area

Cooper Fitness Center has shower areas in both the men and women's restrooms. Glimmerglass Fitness Center does not have showers available in the facility, however, the men's and women's restrooms may be used as changing areas. Both fitness centers have "day use only" lockers available for storage of belongings. Extended overnight use of lockers may result in the removal of the lock.

Members who do not choose to use the changing/shower areas or the lockers are asked to store coats, duffel bags, boots, etc. at the coat racks while using the center.

Sound System

Stereo sound systems are used by the exercise class instructors when they are conducting classes. When classes are not in session, the stereo system is used for the purpose of providing listening pleasure to ALL members in the center. Only Fitness Center staff members are allowed to operate the stereo systems.
