Barriers to Accessibility
Reporting accessibility barriers is essential to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for all individuals, especially those with disabilities. Barriers such as a snow-blocked ramp or a malfunctioning push button can significantly impact accessibility. Promptly reporting these issues allows for timely resolution and ensures compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please report it to Facilities by:
- Calling Facilities at 315-312-3200 Emailing [email protected]
- Contacting the ADA/504 Compliance Officer, Dr. Starr Wheeler at [email protected]
Timely reporting helps create an environment where everyone can navigate with dignity and independence.
Accessible Classroom Spaces
It is SUNY Oswego’s policy to ensure that no student with a disability is denied access to a course in which they are enrolled because the classroom is not physically accessible. Accessibility Resources will assist with the relocation of classes or programs.
Physical and Weather Related Barriers
Due to the terrain of our campus as well as weather it can be challenging to easily move around campus. Please report any barriers you encounter as you travel around campus, including sidewalks, curb cuts, elevators, doors, and campus buildings. We will expedite easily achievable changes while continuing to modify and upgrade areas that pose greater challenges of accessibility.
