Deeply schooled in the figurative Spanish Baroque tradition of his native Madrid, Perdiguero is able to focus that traditional grounding on his animal subjects. His animal portraits comment on the condition of both man and animal.

They all become alter egos that embody the psychology and spirituality of human behavior in contemporary culture and society. They symbolize the hidden aspects of the modern condition of the human animal and while reflecting on the animalistic side of our alienated human existence, they become manifestations of the inner psyche that transmit profound feelings of solitude and anxiety.
