Reports and Plans

The Office of Sustainability at SUNY Oswego reports the progress we make to many agencies, committees, and organizations. These entities provide useful feedback for community engagement, continuous improvement, and recognition of our work. The baselines and frameworks provided by these entities further our ability to implement sustainability within our campus and to the community beyond.

The reports and plans listed below cover areas from nature management to sustainable education and everything in between.
 

Tree Care Plan

The SUNY Oswego Campus Tree Care Plan establishes and upholds the Institution’s commitment to the stewardship of our ecosystem and to building resilience concerning a changing climate.

Clean Energy Master Plan

The Clean Energy Master Plan (CEMP) was developed to create a vision for low carbon and renewable technologies and operational strategies to reduce fossil fuel use/dependency, increase electrification of utility operations, and maintain resiliency and reliability. This CEMP provides a roadmap for near-term actions and a decision-making framework for the long-term vision to achieve NYS energy efficiency and GHG reduction, mandates and set a path for carbon neutrality by 2050.

GreenNY Report

Annually, SUNY Oswego reports programming success stories, areas of improvements, and plans for the following academic year to SUNY and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. This information from every SUNY Entity culminates into the GreenNY Report.

The full report, which includes Executive Order #22 and information from other SUNY Schools is available from the Office of General Services of NY.

Bird Friendly Designation - Fall 2023

This designation, for our sugar bush, denotes the extensive work we have done in making a diverse, natural, and habitable tree stand for New York's vast native bird population.

Clean Green Campuses

SUNY Oswego has been recognized by NYSERDA for our participation in the REV Campus Challenge as well as our dedication to clean energy and sustainability achievements. We will continue dedicating ourselves to achieve sustainable goals in the future.

ACUPCC signatory member 

On September 15, 2007, President Deborah F. Stanley signed the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), committing SUNY Oswego to achieving climate neutrality by 2050 and setting an example for regional and national sustainability efforts.
