Athletic Mental Health Counselor

I joined Oswego because I wanted a change of scenery and the opportunities the institution offered. In addition to the opportunities, being around people who would support my professional development would be beneficial. Furthermore, I have received a great deal of support in a short period of time from both my department and other people with whom I have worked. I like being able to provide students with an outlet or someone who understands what it's like to be in their shoes. Given that I have access to a variety of resources as a professional, I also like the overall atmosphere of working in this type of environment. My current job as a student counselor, whether in athletics or with diverse populations, is my ideal career path, which I hope to cultivate further as I grow in this new position. To prepare for that goal, I'm growing in my current position by continuing to work across departments to deepen my understanding of what I can contribute.
