Head shot of Cassie Para outside

Assistant Director of Campus Recreation

I joined Oswego somewhat by chance.  About 12 years ago, I had a good job, but decided to take a leap and come here and it turned out to be a great decision. I never expected to work in higher education, but it’s been an incredibly rewarding path.  No two days are the same, which makes the work both fun and engaging. I really enjoy working with students and seeing their growth and development into young adults as they continue their journey beyond Oswego that’s very fulfilling. I also value the strong relationships I have with my coworkers. We work well together, get things done, and have fun in the process. Additionally, this role provides a great work/life balance.  Over the past 12 years, I’ve grown not only professionally but personally as well. Right now, I’m focused on building and supporting my growing family, which my work environment allows me to do. While I enjoy my current role, I’m always looking for opportunities to grow, expand my professional development, and contribute more across campus. I’m especially interested in finding creative ways to enhance student-focused programming and experiences.
