An official academic transcript includes all undergraduate and graduate coursework completed at SUNY Oswego. Transcripts can only be released at the student’s request. For international document authentication, see the Apostille process, outlined below.

Summer Hours

The Registrar's Office operates remotely on Fridays from June 6 to August 8. Any print-and-mail transcript orders placed after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday or anytime on Friday will be processed the following Monday.

Holds and Restrictions

Students with holds on their accounts may be blocked from requesting official transcripts. Please review your hold status via Hold Information and clear any issues before ordering.

Ordering Transcripts via Parchment

Parchment

Students may request transcripts 24/7 online. Please note: If you send a PDF transcript to yourself, it will be considered unofficial. To ensure your transcript remains official, always send it directly to the intended recipient. For questions, select one of the following options:

Cost and Payment

Each transcript costs $7 and must be paid by credit card. Additional charges may apply for expedited or special delivery options. Parchment uses secure encryption to protect your data.

Note: Transcript orders must be fully authorized and completed before delivery can begin.

Ordering Features

  • Submit requests online 24/7.
  • Receive email updates about processing and delivery.
  • Upload attachments during the order process. Be sure to complete any required student sections before uploading. The Registrar’s Office will complete institutional fields, if needed.
  • Check your order status online.
  • Some orders qualify for automatic authorization.
  • Set a secondary email in your Parchment account in case your Oswego email becomes inactive.

Ordering Transcripts via MyOswego

SUNY Oswego does not accept transcript requests by phone, fax, or email, and does not fax transcripts under any circumstances.

You can also order transcripts via myOswego under the “Student Records” tab. You may choose to:

  • Hold for Grades – Wait until final semester grades are posted.
  • Hold for Degree – Wait until your degree has been officially awarded.

Electronic (PDF) delivery is strongly encouraged as it is the fastest and most secure option. Paper copies and archived transcripts (pre-1990) typically take 5–7 business days.

Apostille: International Document Authentication

If you're working or studying outside the U.S., you may need your diploma or transcript authenticated through the Apostille process, which authenticates the legality of documents exchanged between participating nations. Check with your employer or school to find out what’s required.

  • Some schools or agencies may only require a notarized document with a college seal.
  • Others may need an official Apostille from New York State.
  • E-diplomas are often accepted instead of Apostille diplomas and can be authenticated online.
