Ryan Gillett is the Director of Workforce Innovation and Community Impact at SUNY Oswego, supporting the Office of Workforce Innovation and External Relations (OWIER). In this role, he builds partnerships with employers, non-profits, and community organizations that are mutually-beneficial and align with SUNY Oswego's and the partners' annual strategic goals focused on upward mobility, workforce readiness, and/or healthy communities.

Additionally, Ryan serves as Project Director for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Oswego County, part of AmeriCorps Seniors. RSVP launched in Oswego County in 1973 and has been sponsored by SUNY Oswego since its inception. The program engages volunteers age 55 and older through recruitment, training, and placement with community-based organizations across the county. RSVP currently supports 275+ active volunteers serving with 50+ local nonprofit partners and initiatives.

Ryan brings more than a decade of cross-sector experience spanning municipal government, nonprofit work, higher education, and government consulting. He earned a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, with academic focus areas that included conflict and collaboration, and technology and infrastructure development. He also earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in Security Studies. A Syracuse native, they are committed to expanding opportunity across Central New York.

Prior to joining SUNY Oswego, Ryan supported federal efforts related to the CHIPS initiative. He worked within teams that evaluated CHIPS applications, developed program strategies, and helped build program management office functions to coordinate work across stakeholders. He later supported a strategic workforce evaluation and reorganization effort within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services ecosystem. That work focused on aligning structures, roles, and ways of working to mission needs.
