Learn how a new Research Foundation for SUNY account is established for your new award, and how it can be accessed.
IMPORTANT: Before an account can be established and any spending of funds can occur from a new grant/contract award that involves human participants, care and use of animals, all applicable research compliance approvals must be in place and copies of those approvals shared with ORSP.
Phase 1. Account Set-up Request Submitted to RF Central Office
Pre-award staff requests award setup. If there is a sub-award associated with the project, a subaward agreement may need to be developed with RF Central and the collaborating institution.
Phase 2. Principal Investigator Orientation Meeting Held
Once an award request is made to RF Central Office, the PI will receive an email from Post-award staff. An orientation session will be scheduled to review award details and requirements. Refer to the orientation checklist, as well as Roles and Responsibilities.
Phase 3. Account Established in Oracle by RF Central Office
After an award is finalized, either by award notice from a sponsor, or an agreement being signed by both the sponsor and RF, an account will be established in the RF’s Oracle system and Principal Investigators will have access to Report Center (Sign in using your SUNY Oswego credentials), which includes the following information regarding their award:
- Award, Project and Task Numbers
- Sponsor Name
- Project Title
- PI and Co-PIs
- Period of Performance
- Award Amount and Budget Detail
- Paid Expenses and Balance Available
- Programmatic Reporting Due Dates
- Cost Sharing/Matching Information (if applicable)
Phase 4. Award-Specific Documentation Shared with PI
Following account set up, an email including a copy of relevant award-specific documents will be sent to the PI and any identified project personnel.
