SUNY-RF FRINGE BENEFITS

Components of Fringe Benefits primarily include: Retirement, Health Insurance, and Social Security. The rates for NYS are effective July 1 - June 30, in conjunction with the fiscal year observed by SUNY.

SUNY-RF TRAVEL RATES

Mileage Rate (set by the Federal Government; See POV Mileage. Effective 01-Jan-2025 to 31-Dec-2025, mileage is $0.70 per mile. For any unsubmitted 2024 travel, mileage is $0.67 per mile.

Traveler eligibility for MEALS (must be in OVERNIGHT status)

• Breakfast on day of departure: if travel begins before 7 a.m.
• Dinner on day of departure: if travel begins before 6 p.m.
• Breakfast on day of return: if travel ends after 8 a.m.
• Dinner on day of return: if travel ends after 7 p.m.

New York State Minimum Wage Rate

The state minimum wage increased by $0.50 on January 1, 2025 and is scheduled to increase again by $0.50 on January 1, 2026. Beginning in 2027, the minimum wage will annually increase by the three-year moving average of the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) for the Northeast Region.

Here is more information on the minimum wage rate schedule. As of January 1, 2025, the minimum wage rate for our region is $15.50/hr.

SUNY-RF Facilities & Administrative (F&A) Costs

SUNYRF's Facilities & Administrative (F&A) Cost Recovery Policy defines F&A (also known as indirect or FAC) as "Expenses associated with the use of University facilities and various administrative costs that cannot be directly and uniquely assigned to any particular project."

FACILITIES AND ADMINISTRATION (F&A) Rates for Federal and Non-Federal awards at SUNY Oswego are applied to Modified Total Direct Costs (MTDC).
