New NIH Requirement
Beginning October 1, 2025, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is mandating that trainings are required for senior/key Personnel for the disclosure of other support to ensure senior/key Personnel fully understand their responsibility to disclose all resources made available to the researcher in support of and/or related to all of their research endeavors, regardless of whether or not they have monetary value and regardless of whether they are based at the institution the researcher identifies for the current grant (see NOT-OD-25-133).
Training must be completed and a certificate must be shared with ORSP prior to proposal submission. See ORSP’s policy
New NSF Requirement
Beginning December 2, 2025, the National Science Foundation (NSF) will require that all senior/key personnel identified in a proposal have completed compliant training in Research Security within 12 months prior to proposal submission (see Important Notice Item 2). Required training must be completed and a certificate must be shared with ORSP prior to proposal submission.
New US Department of Energy Requirement
Beginning October 7, 2024 , the Department of Energy (DOE) requires that covered individuals must certify that they have completed within one year of such application research security training within 12 months immediately preceding the application date. Required training must be completed and a certificate must be shared with ORSP prior to proposal submission.
