Bio
With a diverse background in higher education, mentoring, volunteerism, legal aid and community engagement, Dr. Sandy Bargainnier is an advocate for refugee communities. She has been instrumental in enhancing the well-being of new Americans in Syracuse. As a full-time professor in the Department of Health Promotion and Wellness at SUNY Oswego, Sandy brings a wealth of expertise and teaching about refugee wellness to her advocacy efforts, scholarship and community service. Sandy completed the United States Department of Justice Immigration Law training in 2022.
