What I enjoy most about working with students:

I enjoy hearing their stories and witnessing the growth they experience throughout their college careers. I value being a source of support and encouragement during what can be one of the most important and challenging periods of their lives. Being able to provide an outlet for students, help them navigate challenges, and support them through their experiences is especially meaningful to me.

What are your areas of focus or interests in Counseling?:

My theoretical lens would be Relational Culture Theory, which allows me to build meaningful connections with students by recognizing and understanding their cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and lived experiences.

To truly know and support a person, it is important to understand the core values, experiences, and perspectives that shape who they are as an individual. This lens allows me to develop a deeper understanding of my students and foster relationships built on trust, connection, and mutual respect.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I love shooting hoops, swimming in the lake, and being in nature.

What advice would you give to your first-year self?

Remain true to yourself and trust in the work and dedication you have invested, knowing that you deserve to be where you are. Continue to build your confidence and cultivate meaningful friendships and relationships throughout your journey. Surrounding yourself with a strong support system can provide encouragement, guidance, and reassurance, reminding you that you do not have to navigate this journey alone.
