Research and Publications

He conducts research in strategic crisis communication at the intersection of public health, organizations, and the role of media. He is a mixed methods scholar. Specifically, his research investigates communication processes and effects involving extreme events.

His research has been featured in many peer reviewed journals, including Journal of Contingencies and Crisis Management; Journal of Business Ethics; Communication Studies; Health Communication; The Learning Organization; Journal of International Crisis and Risk Communication Research; and American Water Works Association Journal among others.

His research was awarded a competitive grant from The Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). Additionally, his contributions have been acknowledged through multiple top paper awards, including those bestowed by The Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, The Central States Communication Association (CSCA), and The International Crisis and Risk Communication Conference (ICRCC).
