ORIGAMI BLOSSOM

Origami Blossom, cast iron, 2021.

Vaughn Randall

Origami Blossom observes the intersection of biology, mathematics, and mechanical function. The convoluted and precise nature of folding a ridged planar material into a supple organic form and then solidifying that form into an unmoving media illustrates the cyclical and intertwined nature of the universe as well as the undesirable tendency to establish dogma. That which was fluid is now irretrievably frozen.
