Self-portraits have long been a touchstone of both professional and student artists – perhaps because self-reflection is so common to both. Depicting herself on the cusp of post-student life, Rhiannon Throop seems to look far past the viewer and into an unknown future. The shifting, “pixilated” lines throughout reinforce the untold possibilities at this stage of life.
