Tips to Search for On-Campus Jobs and Paid Internships

Follow these steps to your next job!

1. Log into Handshake.

2. Complete your profile if it is your first login.

3. Click "jobs" on the left menu bar.

4. Use the following tips below based on the job role you want!

Tips for:

Work-Study

  • Set your Location to Oswego, NY on the top navigation bar.
  • Select the "Part-time" button for job type.
  • Click "All filters" on the top bar.
  • Select "On-Campus."
  • Check the box for "work-study."
  • Click "Show Results."

Note: If you are unable to see the work-study job postings, you need to contact Financial Aid to ensure your FWS Authorization was approved!


Student Assistants (Non-Work Study)

  • Set your Location to Oswego, NY on the top navigation bar.
  • Click "All filters" on the top bar.
  • Select "On-Campus" under job type.
  • Select "Paid" under pay and benefits.
  • Click "Show Results."

On-Campus Paid Internships

  • Set your Location to Oswego, NY on the top navigation bar.
  • Select the "Internship" button for job type.
  • Click "All filters" on the top bar.
  • Select "Paid" under pay and benefits.
  • Click "Show Results." 

All SUNY Oswego campus internships will be posted by departments that start with "SUNY Oswego." Example: SUNY Oswego - Office of Experiential Learning.

Note: Some student assistant roles are also eligible to earn internship credit (See the Preparing to Work On Campus Page).

All Graduate Assistantships are posted through the Graduate Studies Department.

Each fall and spring semester, the Experiential Learning Office hosts our Campus Opportunities Expo to connect students to opportunities. 

Why should you go?

  • The SUNY Oswego On-Campus Internship Program offers over 50 internship programs.
  • The campus hires student staff roles in most departments.
  • Work-study roles are available in many departments.
  • Experience is all around campus for you to connect with.
  • There is a lot of free food.
