Dear Members of the SUNY Oswego Community –
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Nicole Wise as SUNY Oswego’s next Director of Institutional Research, effective February 12.
Dr. Wise brings extensive experience in assessment, accreditation, data analytics, and continuous improvement in higher education. She most recently served as Associate Dean for Assessment and Accreditation in our College of Education, Health, and Human Services, where she has led complex accreditation processes, overseen institutional reporting, and spearheaded the development and analysis of key data to inform student, program, and unit performance.
Throughout her career, Dr. Wise has demonstrated a deep commitment to building data-informed cultures that support institutional effectiveness and student success. Her work has included managing institutional self-studies, coordinating external review visits, developing statistical analyses to ensure the reliability and validity of assessments, and collaborating with stakeholders across the university to translate data into meaningful action. Her leadership has consistently strengthened compliance, transparency, and strategic planning.
Dr. Wise holds a Doctorate of Education from the University at Buffalo, with research focused on post-graduation measures and their impact on accreditation and continuous improvement. She also earned a Master of Science in Education from SUNY Potsdam and a Bachelor of Science in Business, summa cum laude, from Capella University.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Dr. Wise has been an engaged member of our campus community, contributing her expertise to strategic planning initiatives, campus committees, and SUNY-wide assessment collaborations. Her combination of technical expertise, collaborative leadership, and institutional knowledge positions her exceptionally well to lead Institutional Research at this important time for SUNY Oswego.
Dr. Wise will report to Dr. Murat Yaşar, deputy to the President for Strategy, Planning and Special Projects. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Wise on this well-deserved appointment and in supporting her in her new role.
