Rapid tests available for students
Rapid tests are available to all students. Rapid tests may be picked up at Health Services, the Marano Campus Center welcome desk, Athletics and at the front desks of the Residence Halls.
Please note, however, that as of September 12, 2022, surveillance testing is no longer required for any student with a regular physical presence on campus who has a campus approved medical or religious exemption from the SUNY COVID-19 vaccination requirement.
Testing is recommended for people with symptoms of COVID-19 as soon as possible after symptoms begin. Students experiencing symptoms are encouraged to test by using at-home rapid tests, which are available for purchase at local pharmacies and currently being made available at residence hall front desks, the welcome center desk in the Marano Campus Center, and the Mary Walker Health Center. If you want to get a PCR test or need to be seen for something else, you will need to make an appointment with Health Services.
Students who test positive should submit their antigen rapid test to the patient portal on the Health Services website or email it to [email protected]. Submit your at-home test with a photo of the following information:
- the test result labeled with the date and time of the test along with the student’s name and date of birth
- photo of student identification (SUNY Oswego ID or license) next to the test results
SUNY Oswego strongly encourages employees to seek medical attention if you develop symptoms or are not feeling well. Employees are encouraged to contact their primary care provider or visit New York State COVID-19 testing website for PCR testing availability. Employees may also order free tests at COVID.gov or through your local pharmacy, primary care provider or urgent care facility.
